Brief Stints with one to a few teams.

As an autograph collector of the Boston Bruins there are several players that are forgotten. Forgotten not purposely but only because their playing time was short either from a career ending injury or because the player did not perform. These next Bruins players had brief playing time and played for one or two different teams. I enjoy finding the older players auto's because about 95% of their autographs are so beautiful, it would make any schoolteacher smile.

The first player is Mark Marquess. Mark played a total of 27 games all with the 1946-47 Boston Bruins. Mark scored 5 goals and 4 assists for 9 points. In one game Mark scored 2 goals one was the game winner. He also appeared in 4 playoff games but failed to register a point. He went on to play with various other teams, but his only  NHL team was Boston. He passed away January 19, 2015 at the age of 89. This autograph is one he signed a year or two before his death. You can see the shakiness in his hand as I have seen other autographs from him that are not shaky but you can easily see every letter in his entire name and look at how fancy he made the letter "M".

Our next player is Chuck Scherza. Chuck played 9 games with the Boston Bruins and 27 games with the New York Rangers for 36 NHL games. Chuck scored 2 points with the Bruins 1 goal and 1 assist. Chuck had a very nice legible autograph and as a bonus he added his jersey number 9 and added the year he played with the Bruins. Now a days a collector would have to pay a premium for an inscription and good luck reading the auto. Chuck passed away March 16, 2014 at the age of 91.

The next player is Aldo Palazzari. Palazzari played 35 NHL games 24 games with Boston and 11 games with the New York Rangers. He scored 6 goals and 3 assists with Boston and 2 goals with the Rangers. His autograph is another legible one like many of the older players who took their time to sign for their fans. Aldo had an eye injury during the 1944 training camp with the Rangers forcing him to retire from the game. Aldo passed away May 12, 2007 at the age of 88 years old.

My next post I will be showing some other Bruins Greats and these players most Bruins fans should know. If you read my blogs please follow me and thanks for taking the time to read.
